Home Sweet Home!

We made it home last night about 9:30pm. Our flight was supposed to arrive in KC at 6:40, but due to some thunderstorms and tornadoes, we were a bit delayed. We had a great vacation and have come back nice and relaxed. We missed Campbell terribly, but we all made it through just fine. I think Mimi and Papa might sleep for a week!

Last Day of Activities!

On Friday, we went on an excursion. We were with a group of about 20 people on a huge sail boat. We went kayaking and Stephen snorkeled while I sat on the boat and drank beer! The water was a bit choppy, so he didn't really get to see many sea urchins. We could tell you anything you want to know about a Mangrove tree....

Southernmost Point Buoy

Here is a picture of us at the Southernmost Point Buoy. It is a tourist stop you must make while in Key West.

This one is for Campbell

For some reason, there are roosters walking around all over Key West. This rooster was sitting in a tree near our restaurant. Campbell likes to look at all the roosters at Mimi's house, so this picture was for her.

Dinner

We had our first dinner in Key West at a Cuban restaurant called el Masen de Pepe's. It was so yummy and we had the Paella dish full of all kinds of seafood. Oh, and the Presidente beer was good too!

On our way...

Stephen and I spent 6 days in Key West last week while Campbell and the dogs stayed with Mimi and Papa. We rented a car and drove from Ft Lauderdale to Key West, which takes about 3.5 hours. We passed a liquor store called Happy Pappy's and thought it was funny since Papa's nickname is Pappy.

E-Town Friends

On Thursday night, Billy O'Connor was coming through KC on his way to Emporia for the weekend, so we pulled some friends together. Julianne and I hung out with Farrell, Billy, Josh W, Josh S, and Doug and Billy's dad, Kevin. It was a great night of high school memories. Kind of sad that we don't see each other often as Billy is the only one that doesn't live in KC. We need to get together b/c it is just so much fun!

Can you tell which group picture was taken at the beginning of the night, and which one was taken at the end of the night?

Celebratory Cupcake

Most of you know we had a very successful Cardiologist appt on Thursday. I promised Campbell that b/c she was so good and let Dr. Partheban look at her heart, I would bring home a present for her. Campbell got to eat a huge chocolate cupcake with purple frosting!

Baby Gus

We had a very special week, where Stephen was here the entire week! I took advantage of getting out of the house. On Tuesday night, I visited Lisa and Baby Gus. I got to hold him for a couple of hours and he slept on me like a sweet little boy.

Sweet Gus is doing very well and eating a ton. His poor mama is trying to keep up.

Hunting for Easter Eggs

CCJ hunting for eggs around Mimi and Papa's house.

Before Church

Campbell was not cooperative before church to take a picture in her Easter dress. In fact, we had a tough time getting her out the door. She was really funny at church. We let her take communion and she dropped the wafer into the communion wine and the Rector had to fish it out with his finger. Stephen and I were laughing hysterically.

She then realized what she was missing after we sat down and told us she would "be right back" and walked up the aisle to do it again. Papa caught her and they looked at a statue of Jesus. She came back and told us that she had seen Jesus and she wanted to go find him again!

Easter eggs left unattended....

My mom and I thought CCJ was downstairs, but she was actually in the kitchen messing with the easter eggs. WE found 3 on the floor, 2 in the trash, and a couple on the table. She didn't quite understand that you have to peel them before you eat them.

Easter Eggs

Mimi and Campbell dyed Easter eggs on Saturday. Campbell decided that she needed to strip down to her diaper before starting.

New Headbands

Gigi made Campbell a bunch of cute headbands for Easter. She enjoyed modeling them for us. She looks so cute in her Spring sweater!

Silly Games

Campbell playing a silly game with Daddy and Papa. Daddy and Papa were taking a break from putting in the cork floors in the basement. I am glad to say they are done and we are in the cleanup/touchup phase.

New Camera!

Stephen and I are so excited as our new camera arrived in the mail this week. We have been wishing for this camera for a couple of years and finally bought it with AMEX points. There is a benefit to the amount of traveling Stephen does.

Baby Gus is here!!

On Monday, April 6th, Augustus Brady Ketteler was born at 4:04pm. He weighed 8lbs 15oz. Lisa had a very tough labor and broke the hospital record for most amount of epidurals. She had 4 epidurals that didn't work and 2 spinals blocks that did provide some relief! Gus is sweet and adorable and a good eater! I'll post my pictures from the hospital later this week as I left my other camera with Lisa.

The Last Supper

Lisa is heading to the hospital on Sunday night to start her induction. We hope to be holding a sweet baby Ketteler on Monday night! Cassie, Lisa, Ivy, and I got together for the last hurrah at J. Gilbert's on Saturday night. We cannot wait to find out if Baby Ketteler will be a boy or a girl!

Princess Campbell

Campbell and I took a trip to Target to get some Princess stuff. CCJ and Emaline played on Friday night and there was a little fighting going on over 1 pair of high heeled shoes. I figured CCJ needed her own pair, along with a dress, crown, and wand.

School Injury

Campbell rarely comes home with a true injury from school, but on Friday she came home with 2! They both happened within 20 minutes of each other at the very end of the day. The first picture is the head injury. She tripped and hit her head on the toy shelf. She had a rather large goose egg last night, but today it looks much better as you can see. The next picture is the result of a child kicking a lego and it flew up and hit CCJ in the eye and cut her eye lid. Hopefully they will heal in time for Easter pictures!

Campbell's Robe

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love a robe. It is my most favorite piece of clothing! Campbell decided she needed to wear her robe today just like me b/c she was cold. Aunt Rebecca picked this cute robe out for CCJ and it has her name on it.
